You arrive at our camp in the morning, just as the sun begins to clear the mountain peaks. The first thing you notice is the change in sound. The noise of cars and city life is gone. In its place, the low, steady rumble of the Tara River fills the air.
Rafting equipment will be provided, followed by a short safety briefing. We keep it simple and clear. Since we are located at Brštanovica, the starting point of your rafting journey, there is no need for any additional transport. Once you are ready, you will set off directly from the camp.
The river takes over from there. You will see why people call this the "Tear of Europe." The water is so clear you can see the stones on the bottom, even in deep spots. We will navigate through powerful rapids. These are the fast, white-water sections that get your heart racing. But it is not all fast. Between the rapids, there are moments of complete silence. The river becomes calm, and you can hear the birds in the trees above.
We make sure to stop along the way. You can jump in for a swim or stand under a cold waterfall. This is the perfect time to take photos of the towering canyon walls. By the time we paddle back to camp for lunch, you will notice a change in yourself. The stress of the week has washed away. It is not just a day trip anymore. It feels like you have been somewhere very far away from the modern world. We finish the tour with a hot, traditional lunch by the river, leaving you full, a little bit tired, and completely refreshed.
This tour is a great fit if you are passing through the area and want to experience the canyon without committing to a full multi-day adventure. It gives you a genuine feel for the Tara, even when time is limited.
