We recommend arriving by 19:00 so you can fully enjoy your first evening and settle in without rush. Our camp sits right on the banks of the Tara River, so you will hear the water from the moment you step out of your car. We greet you with a local welcome drink and show you to your room. Once you are settled, we invite you to join us for a traditional dinner. This is a time for socializing and meeting your fellow adventurers in a beautiful, natural environment. There is no rush and no city noise. Just the sound of the river and good company.
The second day begins with a freshly prepared breakfast at 08:00 AM, featuring simple domestic flavors that prepare you for a full day on the river. After breakfast, our professional skippers will help you select your gear. We provide everything you need, including safety vests, helmets, wetsuits, and special river shoes. Once ready, we set off toward Šljivansko, and the journey itself feels like a small adventure. The road leads over Piva Mountain and through authentic mountain villages such as Pisce and Trsa. Along the way, you will pass the Sedlo pass and enjoy wide views of Žabljak and the surrounding peaks of Durmitor National Park. The famous Durmitor Ring road adds a special rhythm to this part of the experience, with every turn revealing a new layer of beauty.
From Šljivansko, we step into the water and begin the rafting descent toward Radovan Luka, a journey of around four hours through the heart of the canyon. Along the river, we pause for moments of rest, a light lunch pack, swimming in clear water, and photos in places that feel untouched and timeless. You will pass beneath the iconic Đurđevića Tara Bridge, glide through quiet sections where the canyon opens wide, and see natural springs emerging directly from the rock.
As the day fades, we arrive at Radovan Luka or Tepca, deep inside the canyon where silence feels almost tangible. Dinner is served in this remote setting, and the night unfolds slowly, surrounded by wilderness, river sounds, and a sky full of stars.
On day three, we continue our journey through the most beautiful part of Durmitor National Park. This section of the river is a bit calmer, which lets you really take in the scenery. We will visit the Bajlovica Sige waterfall, which is 30 meters high. We also explore the canyon of the Susica River. The place where the Susica meets the Tara is one of the most picturesque spots in the region. The view of the two canyons joining together is truly magnificent. We finish this rafting stage back at our camp in Brštanovica. A special lunch of veal cooked under a metal bell awaits you. The rest of the afternoon is yours. You can rest, take a walk, or swim in the Tara, which we call the Tear of Europe. We serve dinner between 8:30 PM and 9:30 PM, featuring more local specialties. We spend the evening sharing stories by a campfire.
The final day brings the most excitement. We head for the Brštanovica rapid, and a photographer will be there to catch the moment you navigate the waves (optional). Over the next few hours, we pass through the most attractive parts of the canyon and visit the beautiful Šipčanica waterfall. This is a perfect spot for more photos and a quick swim. After 18 kilometers of exciting water, we arrive at Šćepan Polje. This is the spot where the Tara and Piva rivers form the Drina. We take you back to the camp for one last delicious meal before you check out. You will leave with a new sense of energy and memories that will last a lifetime.
